  2. Japan looks utterly amazing! The art prints you showed there were beautiful, I love the traditional art work. Also how awesome is the Pokemon store, I would have been in my element! Jigglypuff was my favourite Sophie :)

Robot Restaurant looks crazy, I don't think I would have believed it if I hadn't of sat here and watched this video. The Temple also looked amazing, that traditional Japanese architecture is something I really want to see, how amazing!

Glad you guys had such a great time :)

  3. Oh, this is the best blog ever! Amazing! And I think you two earn the best hair ever while traveling award. Seriously, after a 12-hour flight, how do you manage to look so good? Love these, can't wait to see more!

  11. Looooooved the Robot Restaurant haha! So random, it looks like something out of a futuristic movie! Loved the video too, can't wait for the second part :)

  12. wow Tokyo just looks so amazing. I also appreciate the filming so much. I have attempted filming the environments around me to make a short clip and it is not easy at all. Props to your friend. However, I do always wonder how vlogging can interrupt the actual experience of travel - I know that even taking photos for my blog while travelling can sometimes interrupt the natural flow of travel and just living in the moment.

  13. When I see 'vlog' I expect a short clip of bad quality, but boy am I wrong here! Such a great video. Loving all the things you guys tried out and especially how you were able to capture that unique Tokyo vibe. Loved every sec of the video :)

  15. I know what you're saying.. but to be honest, I don't find it's an issue. I know there is a huge argument that photographing while you're doing something takes away from the experience, but I really don't agree. So long as we're conscious of what we're doing and we don't let taking photographs or filming take priority, I don't think it's an issue. It's rare taking a photograph/filming takes longer than a few moments - I don't think that destroys an experience. If anything, being able to record the events means you're more likely to remember it vividly. There are loads of things I have forgotten I have done because I have no record of them.

  23. Thank you so much for watching, Natalie, I'm pleased you enjoyed it. I slept for most of the flight! I'm surprised I didn't look a mess - although I felt it!

  24. We had the best time in Tokyo, it's an amazing place and I can't wait to go back. I just can't get over how different the city is to all the other cities I have visited, it truly is unique.

  27. Ahhhh this is again the cutest, funnest, most lovely snippet into you and your life with your boy! Fab video, love love love seeing some of Tokyo through your eyes again! I don't have full sound on my laptop (not a clue how to solve this?!?!?!) anyhow, the bits I watched via my phone sound were so very sweet!
Is Jack a full time photographer/videographer??

  28. Just watching it now and adding some thoughts - god I ramble I'm sorry but love the effort on the video!
That first temple on the video - I am SURE that's where I saw in 2012 for new years eve (with a group of about 40 couchsurfers I was out wtih!)
Love the 7/11 breakfast reveal!! (I ate a lot of 7/11 bento box goods!)
Wow that cog Loft thing is COOOOOOLLLL!!! That robot restaurant?!?!? Wow... bizarre!
This VLOG is AMAZING! Jack is a camera natural, fabulous!
And I love the way you're popping in and out in the background and foreground - very sweet!

  29. Haha - ramble away!

Loft was so good for stationery and gifts, I bought quite a few things but the choice was overwhelming.. as was the Robot Restaurant! That was just.. indescribable!

I don't really tend to say much in his weekly vlogs but holiday ones I get more air time ;)) It's a nice way to remember our holidays together.

  30. I'm super pleased you enjoyed watching it and thank you for taking the time out to do so!

Jack's a professional photographer - http://jackspiceradams.com - he does the vlog for fun but he's really particular about the quality!

  31. YES - you need to go.. everyone needs to go! It's amazing. Tokyo is every bit as dreamy as I imagined it to be.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I agree that in the end everyone is always really thankful to be able to look back on those memories and it makes it much easier to recall those happy times - be it in video or in a photo. When I was home in the US during the holidays we watched a lot of family videos and I am so happy to have those memories on tape - especially because I was way too young to even recall 90% of it. I am personally still struggling to find the balance between feeling pressured to document all of my life for my blog and just live in the moment though.

i think the flight to Tokyo has to for some reason be the worst flight iv ever done ! it was worse than la to London or London to new york ! but Tokyo is the best place i have ever been so it was worth the flight !

  34. I love how Jack's hair goes from perfectly styled at the beginning of the vlog to completely disheveled at 1:39 (this just proves how long and how far you had travelled that day) LOL
