You Can Have Whatever You Want

If you want something, you can have it - you just need to be prepared to do anything for it.

Nothing will ever just be handed to you. Overnight success doesn’t exist. If you’re waiting for someone to “discover you” or you’re looking for your “one big break,” that’s never going to happen.

You can have whatever you want but it means you will have to put up with the annoying, frustrating, boring, mundane stuff to get there. You will have to push through the rough times to get where you want to be. You can’t just shrug off your responsibilities or quit your job because you hate it; you can't just hope to win the lottery or sit around waiting for things to change. That reward of only comes from working the hardest you have ever worked to get there.

Having what you want means you have to channel all your energy into that one big goal and never stop thinking about it. Every waking moment should be spent doing something that can further the pursuit of your goals or else it should be spent thinking of ways to achieve your aspirations.

If you want something, you’ve got to be prepared to work for it. No excuses.

This is so true. We always need to remember that if we work hard we can have whatever we want. I feel like a lot of people nowadays are just so lazy. They have no perseverance whatsoever and expect to get things on a platter. So thanks for writing this wake up call.

  20. Definitely THE article that I needed, sometimes you just need a bit of a pick me up from someone else. I think sometimes we tend to forget that we can do anything, as long as we work hard at it.

  29. Your posts are so motivational and to the point. While I recognize that I have to put the work into what I'm planning to accomplish at the moment, it's quite helpful to hear it from an outside source in a no-nonsense way. I'm also a fan of the picture of your desk area - I love the arrangement!
