In Two Years

May | June | July | August | September | October | November | December | January | February | March | April

This blog is two years old today. It feels like it's a lot older, truth be told. It's nice to look back on the past twelve months and see what has changed, it gives you a new, fresher perspective on things. I've enjoyed exploring new content ideas, travelling to new places, and sharing more of my life in weekly updates. I'm starting to miss the beauty content a little bit and I'm growing very tired of the advice posts - here and everywhere else. I feel the urge to make quite a lot of changes but I'll talk more about that another time. For now, I hope you enjoy a little detour back into the archives.

Congrats on two years of blogging and a pristinely perfect collage of photos here. Beauty and advice? Who needs those. Weekly updates and adventures and personal philosophies are all we really need.

  24. Not beauty advice - just sharing products I like and use, etc. I think there is room for a little bit of everything since I want this to be a personal, creative lifestyle blog not just a one-niche blog :))

  28. I'm just tired of it all, y'know? I think it's great people love it on other blogs and I'm super pleased you think my advice is useful.. I'm just feeling like I want to do more, instead of talk about it. I kind of forgot what I wanted this blog to be and it's NOT just an advice blog :))

  31. I do, I really do. I miss having a more rounded blog with varied content. I always wanted it to be a personal lifestyle blog and I feel like I've veered from one niche (beauty) to another (business advice) and now I just want to find a nice middle ground where I talk about all kinds of things. I'm not blogging to make money or be popular, I'm doing it to remember the things I do and how my business grows and what creative projects I enjoy. I want to incorporate a little bit of every part of my life into this blog :))

  32. Happy 2nd Anniversary (or Birthday? I'm never sure which term I should use for blogs). Seriously, I can't believe your blog is so young - it feels as if I've been reading it forever! You always have such amazing posts and they're so frequent that it feels as if I've spent a decade with it in my life! And don't take this the wrong way - please don't - but I really miss the makeup content too. I'm growing tired of advice posts (just like you are) but despite that, I always read the ones you've posted here because you're a great writer and always give your readers such great, straight forward tips on blogging and being creative.

  33. Thank you so much for reading and being such an active commenter, Vanessa.

I really appreciate your honesty; I have a post coming up next week talking about the changes I want to make with this blog and a bit about why and my opinions on advice posts. They have their place and I'm certain they help a lot of people out - I'm just bored of the blogging advice, y'know? I feel like I've read and listen to a lot of books and podcasts lately and I just drowned myself in advice to the point where I become sick of it.

I won't be dropping business/creative advice from this blog entirely but I realise now that I kind of forgot what I wanted this place to be and I started writing what I thought other people wanted to read rather than why I wanted to write.

I'm hoping my post next week will explain things a bit better and show people where I am right now and what I'm thinking about doing with this space. I'm definitely trying to make this place more "rounded" and I'll be bringing back the beauty content to some degree :))
