Jack often travels for shoots and this time it was to Bangor. I decided to jump in the car and tag along for the ride. We drove from Birmingham to Wales where we borrowed a friend of a friend's cottage in the isolated upland valley of Cwm Penmachno to spend the weekend in blissful countryside.

No phone signal. No wifi. Just the sound of the fire and a ticking clock.

While Jack was working I crept out into the village and went on a two hour walk exploring the dirt trails and farmland. It was exquisitely quiet; the mist rolled over the horizons and the fields were eerily still. It was the most peaceful I have felt in a while.

On the Sunday we hopped back in the car for a long drive around the winding roads and through the rolling hills and mountain tops, up through the countryside to Holyhead and back. The views were phenomenal and we had to resist stopping the car at every twist and turn to take photographs of the scenery.
