This is a great post, thank you! I have been blogging for just two months and sometimes doubt myself but if put all doubts out of my head I remember why I am doing it - because I really enjoy it!

Such a lovely post, you've made so many important points that so many bloggers (including myself) sometimes forget! I especially like 18 - 20! xo
ReplyDeleteThis is a really nice blog post, they are also very good advices :)
ReplyDelete#17 - so true! congrats on one year!

I think this is a post we all should print off and stick on our wall :)
ReplyDeleteI'm forever judging myself against others, not just in regards to blogging as I find it can be anything in life. At the moment I'm finding it quite difficult to make my blog stand out from the rest, I need a brain storming session.

I love this post. I just finished a year of blogging myself and need to remind myself of quite a few of these points from time to time. Isn't it crazy to think you've been blogging for a year already? To me it's still a little surreal.

Thanks for this! I've only had my blog for about 6 months, so reading this quick tip gives me an idea of what I should be directing myself to!

This list is perfect - I've been blogging for nearly half my life, and I still forget these things sometimes!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if my comment posted?.. Anyway...
ReplyDeleteI have to say this list is really inspiring - I've only just started out blogging and it's really interesting to see what you have learnt in a year!
Really love that you say to focus on one thing, I'm really passionate about a lot of "stuff" and like the idea of focusing on one - This list certainly answered a few questions I had on blogging.
If you get a chance check out my blog www.beautifie.com then I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks,
Sam xo
Re: #15, it reminds me of a Ryan Adams quote I really love: "Focus on one thing. Make that one thing really good." I think it's great to remember, esp. these days when it's so tempting to multi-task!
ReplyDeleteSo so true!

All of this is beyond accurate; I really need to remember 6 and 7. As much as I love blogging I do get burnt out every so often and then force myself into writing a post. Taking a break is something I should really do whenever that happens.

Ignoring numbers is a great tip.
ReplyDeleteWhile my blog isn't as popular as others.
Sadly I think sometimes I get caught up in the numbers game.
Great tips and great advice.

Thank you!
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to do.. but blogging isn't about numbers. I would rather have 5 VERY active readers who contribute, share, and comment regularly than 10,000 who rarely interact with me - it's all relative :))
ReplyDeleteDefinitely take breaks - it's good for you :))
ReplyDelete<3
ReplyDeleteMulti-tasking doesn't work; I definitely think people try to do and BE too many things all at once.
ReplyDeleteSuper glad you found this post useful and thank you for reading :))
ReplyDeleteI think it's easy for everyone to forget :))
ReplyDeleteGlad you found it useful! :))
ReplyDeleteYES. It's gone so fast.. but at the same time feels like I have been doing it for WAAAAY longer!
ReplyDeleteThank you
ReplyDelete:))
ReplyDeleteI think we all do it to some degree.. and comparison isn't always bad, so long as we don't get hung up on it. It's ok to want to be better at whatever it is we do, as long as we don't try to compare ourselves to people who have been doing it for much longer.. :))
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :))
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the post :))
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! It's been so much fun :))
ReplyDeleteSuper glad you enjoyed reading the post :))
ReplyDeleteOnly do things you really enjoy doing :))
ReplyDeleteSuper pleased you're enjoying the blog :))
ReplyDeleteThank you! <3
ReplyDeleteDefinitely - I think it's something a lot of people forget :))
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :))
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see what you do next! :)) Recently I started thinking more about my blog and how I want it to develop.. I've made a few decisions and am much happier with where things are going now.
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful comment - thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteglad you found it useful :))
ReplyDeleteThanks very much for your reply, means a lot!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely weekend :)
Love your list + definitely agree about your point on developing your own style + doing things differently to stand out - great advice!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been doing this for a year yet, but I liked everything you listed :)
ReplyDeleteThe numbers are nothing, interaction is everything -- it's about sharing yourself with others, whether they choose to return the favor is up to them.
ReplyDeleteAww this is a lovely post!!
