If you want something, you can have it - you just need to be prepared to do anything for it.
Nothing will ever just be handed to you. Overnight success doesn’t exist. If you’re waiting for someone to “discover you” or you’re looking for your “one big break,” that’s never going to happen.
You can have whatever you want but it means you will have to put up with the annoying, frustrating, boring, mundane stuff to get there. You will have to push through the rough times to get where you want to be. You can’t just shrug off your responsibilities or quit your job because you hate it; you can't just hope to win the lottery or sit around waiting for things to change. That reward of only comes from working the hardest you have ever worked to get there.
Having what you want means you have to channel all your energy into that one big goal and never stop thinking about it. Every waking moment should be spent doing something that can further the pursuit of your goals or else it should be spent thinking of ways to achieve your aspirations.
If you want something, you’ve got to be prepared to work for it. No excuses.
Exactly what I needed to read after a rough week!

Well said! I used to wait for things to happen to me, but I've realised this won't happen. As you said you have to work for what you want!

Your mug with the eyes print is really cool! Your words, well.. it did provoke a 'jesus, I know..." from me so I guess you did something right. Standing inbetween two long-term processes of education is mind-boggling.

Waw. The words these days were asking for. I may even print them and stick in them on the wall, to keep the motivation on :3 Thing is: and when you are not very sure about what you want?
ReplyDelete@#The Sleeping Giant til I saw the bank draft which was of $8902, I be certain ...that...my sister was truly earning money part time from there labtop.. there neighbour has done this for only about eighteen months and resently cleard the mortgage on their home and bought a brand new Toyota. this is where I went.➨➨➨➨➨➨➨..➨➨➨http://Google///Position/now3456...)
ReplyDeleteThis is so true. We always need to remember that if we work hard we can have whatever we want. I feel like a lot of people nowadays are just so lazy. They have no perseverance whatsoever and expect to get things on a platter. So thanks for writing this wake up call.

Definitely THE article that I needed, sometimes you just need a bit of a pick me up from someone else. I think sometimes we tend to forget that we can do anything, as long as we work hard at it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving me that kick in the butt to go get the things I've just been waiting for.

ReplyDeleteYour posts are so motivational and to the point. While I recognize that I have to put the work into what I'm planning to accomplish at the moment, it's quite helpful to hear it from an outside source in a no-nonsense way. I'm also a fan of the picture of your desk area - I love the arrangement!

Thank you for that slap in the face. And I mean that in the best way possible. When you've got your head down chasing a dream it can feel like nothing is changing. But I need to remember to not complain but create to make the changes I want.
ReplyDeleteWow such a great, concise, clear message! Love this Sophie!
ReplyDeleteYou are right, to achieve a goal you must work for it. Sometimes it can be daunting and scary, which is why during these times it's necessary to read posts like this one to get you through the journey.

New reader of your blog, and I'm loving what I'm reading. I often preach about hard work. One of my favorite quotes is, "The harder you work, the luckier you get."
ReplyDeleteYour message here is very poignant and beautifully written. Thank you!
Such an important message in today's 'want it all, want it now' world! I'm a huge believer in working hard to get where you want to be (wherever that happens to be), it makes the end result so much sweeter! I'm so glad I stumbled across your blog!
