The Scout Project

The Scout Project is all about celebrating something you're already good at, rewarding yourself for learning something new, or acknowledging someone else's skills with merit badges. The Scout Project is a grown-up version of the Girl Guides and these beautifully embroidered patches make me want to get a sash all over again.

Currently there are 19 merits available plus the member patch. I bestowed upon myself the merits of: Friend of the Forest, Helping Hand, Traveller's Compass, Storyteller, and Cloudspotter. I also gave Jack the Photographer and Cyclist merits.

There is something a little bit magical about The Scout Project, these little badges remind me of the things I love doing the most and to do them more often. I like the simple way these merits can remind us of what we're good at, how far we've come and what we've achieved. But they also remind us to keep trying our hand at new things, to experience new adventures, and to always keep learning.

Long live The Scout Project.
