A Considered Life on Patreon

The purpose of A Considered Life is for people like you who want to live a more compassionate, sustainable, and wholesome life through minimalism and veganism. It’s a place to find practical tips on decluttering, wellness, and veganism, as well as minimal style and ethical beauty. I write this blog to help others find out about the businesses they support, who made their clothes, where their food comes from, and the impact their personal choices have on our shared planet so that we can all live a more considered life.

So why am I asking readers to become patrons?

I’ve been blogging for 5 years and I create four pieces of free content for the blog every week. I assume that content is interesting and useful to the 90’000 people who read it every month and I imagine you do too, that’s why you keep reading. The content I create takes time and energy. I need to be able to make something back in order to keep doing it.

I don’t sell advertising space or use affiliate links.
There are no banners or sidebar ads.
I don’t work with unethical brands.

I make zero money from this blog.
And that’s totally my choice.

I could use affiliate links.
I could sell advertising space.
I could accept sponsorship from brands.

And I could stop writing the blog.

I want to continue creating valuable content without compromising the ethics this blog stands for and promotes. I don’t want to encourage people to buy stuff they don’t need so I can make money from affiliate links. I don’t want to feature brands that have questionable ethics. I don’t want to plug ecourses at the end of each post. I've been dubious of crowdfunding and I've gone back and forth on the idea; I know it's a topic of contention for a lot of people. Why ask readers to support the blog instead of brands?

You want to read my blog and not be advertised to all the time. Affiliate links, sponsored posts, and sidebar ads are all there to sell you stuff so bloggers can make an income and it does affect the content that's created. I want to try a different way. I’d prefer A Considered Life was supported by those who care enough to see it continue. So instead of hawking products to you in exchange for a cut of the sale, I've set up a Patreon page.

A Considered Life on Patreon

Patreon is a great way of supporting the creators who make the content you enjoy. Your pledges keep the blog ad-free and make it sustainable for me to create content that enables people live a more compassionate life; providing information, resources, guides, cruelty-free alternatives, product recommendations, practical advice and achievable goals for changing your life for the better.

Everything on the blog is still free; becoming a patron is totally optional.
Pledge as much or as little as you want, or nothing at all if you don't believe it's worth it.

But if you enjoy reading A Considered Life, want to support it and get extra content, become a patron. My goal is to create a community where we can share, learn, and grow together in our efforts to live a more compassionate life.

Patron-only content includes:
  • Extra blog posts
  • A copy of my eBook
  • Resource lists for plant-based living and minimalism
  • Q&As about minimalism, veganism, life, style, and beauty
  • Guides for finding ethical brands and cruelty-free products
  • Discounts and offers from ethical brands
  • Product reviews and recommendations
