The Book List #3

Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach is a compelling factual account of how, for two thousand years, cadavers have helped us will all manner of things; from anatomy labs to the medieval and nineteenth-century human-sourced pharmacies, from human decay research facilities to plastic surgery practice, and even funeral directors' conferences. If you're morbidly curious you should read this book.

The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson is a typical haunted house story allegedly based on true events; well written and creepier than most. The Lutzes move into their "dream home" only to flee in fear four weeks later after being terrorized by paranormal phenomena. What I find more interesting is the real life controversy over the book.

  1. Oh The Amitvville Horror sounds good.
I'm on the look-out for new books because I'm in the mood for reading at the moment.

  2. It's O K.
It's the traditional horror story with possession and ghostly phenomena.. I'm not a huge fan of this type of story but it was good compared to similar stories.
