The Book List #12

April 21, 2014

What I've read in April (so far):
1. What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast by Laura Vanderkam
2. Nine Things Successful People Do Differently by Heidi Grant Halvorson
3. Creative, Inc.: The Ultimate Guide to Running a Successful Freelance Business by Meg Mateo Ilasco
4. We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
5. The Secret History by Donna Tartt

'Personal development' books aren't really my thing but I've enjoyed reading the few that I've picked up this month; they tend to be short and sweet with sound advice. After hearing so many good words said about it, We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson was disappointing to say the least. However, The Secret History by Donna Tartt was freaking amazing; after 100 pages I'd ordered it online and switched from eReader to book since I knew it deserved a permanent place in the book collection.

I absolutely love The Secret History! It's definitely one of the best books I've read in a long time, and I just love the way Tartt writes.

  6. I got 100 pages in and I just thought, "I NEED this book in my life!" (also, the kobo version was a bit messed up so reading it was HARD)
