Our last day in Berlin was spent in the Botanischer Garten und Botanisches Museum and I can't think of a better way we could have spent it. The glasshouses were magnificent, you could easily get lost in the twisting paths that took you from one section to another, slowly leading you astray. There are 43 hectares of ground with over 22,000 different varieties of plant species. The weather made it one of the most beautiful days of our holiday and spending it in such magnificent surroundings made it all the more glorious.

We arrived at the gardens pretty late with only a couple of hours left to explore yet we squeezed in with enough time to visit all the greenhouses, stroll around a small portion of the gardens (where we saw wild fox cubs) and laze on the grass for a while to take in the sunshine.

Berlin's Botanical Gardens are wonderful, I only wish we had a little more time to enjoy them.
