As you can probably tell from my previously travel blog posts, I'm more of a city-break museum dweller than a beach resort kind of traveller. I've always been sceptical (and shamefully a little snobbish) about all-inclusive holidays. However, after a few very stressful months, a sun, sea, and sand vacation seemed like the perfect opportunity to relax, rejuvenate, and recover; something we couldn't do on our usual city break vacations.

At the beginning of July we flew out to Croatia to stay at Tui Sensimar Adriatic Beach, a 4-star all-inclusive adults-only resort. We were relieved it wasn't the stereotypical all-inclusive resort we were thinking it would be; no rowdy tourists or screaming children. The service was wonderful, the rooms comfortable, and the staff accommodating. Despite the resort being fully booked the pool was never crowded and there was always space to find a lounger by the pool or on the private beach; it was always a peaceful and relaxing environment to be in.

Although there were day trips and excursions, we spent most of our time snorkeling in the sea and relaxing by the pool. We banned any talk of work and blocked emails, which gave us space to enjoy each other's company. Although at times I missed the hustle of a busy city and the countless things to do on a whim, booking an all-inclusive resort holiday was absolutely the right decision to ensure some space to relax and recuperate.

We both returned home with a reignited passion for the work we do and excitement for a new chapter of our life together.
