Maybe it's because I don't have super dry skin this moisturiser didn't work for me or maybe it's because the hype killed it. Either way I have the suspicion that if Embryolisse wasn't so hard to get ahold of it would be just another generic, off-the-shelf moisturiser, which it totally is by the way. I would go as far to say that my pot of Norwegian Formula Comfort Balm is better than this. No actually, I am saying that.
This tube of Embryolisse Lait-crème Concentrè has sat almost completely disregarded with barely even a glance thrown in its direction. On the rare occasion I did use it, the formula left my skin feeling greasy and it simply didn't want to sink in. I don't have dry skin but it's not adverse to hydration - this moisturiser provided nothing but a greasy top layer that felt pretty nasty.
For people with super dry skin this might be a good choice, although I can't see the benefit personally; this cream would only create a barrier to prevent further dryness (a bit like Vaseline) and not really solve the problem. I'd recommend foregoing the channel crossing and picking up Origins Make a Difference Plus+ instead.
Have you tried any cult beauty products?
Did they live up to the hype?
I think Embryolisse made a massive mistake in making this a mineral oil based moisturizer. I think that's why it feels so greasy and doesn't sink in. I always appreciate an honest review.

Totally; this product proves to me why mineral oil is such a bad idea.
DeleteAnything mineral oil based destroys my skin and I'm glad I haven't been able to pick this up in Canada because I was definitely considering it for a while.
ReplyDeleteMineral oil products break me out like mad which is why I can't wear most MAC foundations which is just disappointing.
Anyway, I'm glad I read this review and I'm definitely sticking to the Origins Make a Difference Plus range.

AH I didn't realise that about MAC.
DeleteI would definitely recommend sticking with Origins, this French cult product doesn't deserve the status it's got.
