I never feel quite as ready for work as I do when I have applied a little bit of make-up and lipstick adds that extra final touch that makes me think, "I can do this" before cracking down with the day's tasks. Unfortunately, I am a lazy lipstick wearer; I need low maintenance lip products that give me a polished finish without distracting me from my work.
Is it cheating to include two products by the same company? Probably. The Korres Lip Butters are perfect for when you want to add a little colour without fearing reapplication. These lip butters pack a whole heap of colour and although their wear time is pretty low, you don't have to worry about nasty lip stains once the product has worn off. The formula is hydrating providing a smooth application with buildable colour; the only downside is the pot packaging.
NARS Anita* is a subtle dusky mauve-pink shade with a creamy formula and one-stroke application; it applies smoothly, is easy and comfortable to wear, and provides a natural, soft colour to the lips. Although requiring a little more attention than the other lipsticks, it doesn't stain or cause dryness, and while fading is only natural after a long wear time, reapplication isn't a problem.
Christian Dior Lip Glow never leaves my bag; this lip product is amazing. Effortlessly pretty, easy to apply, and incredibly low maintenance, there is literally no other product I can think of that is as comfortable to wear as this.
That CD Lip Glow is definitely on my wishlist thanks to your review. Hope you're having a nice day, Sophie :D
ReplyDeleteVery good post :)

I love products that are moisturising but still colour the lips, so all of these look amazing. I've yet to try the Korres lip butters and I can hardly believe it.

I use the Sleek Pout Polish ones instead of Korres but I've heard they are very similar. Once I'm out of those, I really want to try the ones from Korres. I hate maintaining lipsticks as well, so I can really recommend using a lipliner by itself. Blot it, apply another layer. It looks very natural and is long lasting. I do it on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteI'm also obsessed with Korres Lip Butters, they have a permanent spot in my handbag

So pretty. Really like the Korres lip balms and those lipsticks look right up my street! Intrigued by the Dior one now!

Oh, I love my Korres Pomegranate Lipbutter! It´s amazing and my lips never feel dry - also I thought about giving the Guava one a try. Never tried the Dior Glow but heard great things about it!
ReplyDeleteI love the colour reviver balm! x

Definitely have to try the Korres lip balms. Heard only positive stuff about them, but haven't really tried them. I use Homeoplasmine (or nothing), but your short review sparked even more curiosity. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeing the Dior Lip Glow for quite some time now, it sounds like it'd be great for those mornings where you're too drowsy to apply lip liner and lipstick without looking like a five year old coloring outside of the lines. And the NARS Audacious line is seriously covetable.

I feel the same way you do about the Dior Lip Glow! It's such a handy little product to have.
ReplyDeleteI used to own two of the Korres lip butters (one in Wild Rose and one in Plum) but I threw them both away earlier on in the year. Two reasons: I hated the little pots and I wasn't a fan of the balm's consistency. They both provided a lovely stain on the lips, don't get me wrong, but the actual product itself just let me down. I'd much prefer sticking to the aforementioned Lip Glow or Givenchy's Hydra Sparkling Lip and Cheek Balm.
I'm desperate to try the Dior Lip Glow - I'm yet to find the perfect everyday option so I'm hoping this will be right up my street.
ReplyDeleteLove this!! I'm in the search for the perfect red long lasting lipstick. Do you have any to recommend?
ReplyDeleteAlso, which are your favorite websites to search for makeup reviews?
Ergh your pictures are so beautiful. I have a Korres lip butter (pomegranate) and I love it. That NARS lipsticks look gorgeous. Going to have to go out ASAP to buy it.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful products. I've heard so much about the Korres lip butters but I can never seem to find them in stores.

Dior Lip Glow :)))
ReplyDeleteThat nars shade looks gorgeous ! Great picks

I really think it gives that final touch as well :) My lipstick for work needs to be more subtle though as I don't want it to overpower my personality so the only thing I have so far found useful has been the clinique chubby sticks. I do like the YSL stains which I was in love with at the start as they last all day, but they are just a bit too much in the end. I have never tried a THING from Korres (I know..) so I will need to look at those in some time :) xx

god bless the low maintenance lipstick! I think I need to try out those lip butters!

I usually prefer wearing Clinique Chubby Sticks or Revlon Lip Butters for hydration and a low-maintenance pop of colour.
ReplyDeleteAnd I've been eyeing those Korres Lip Butters for yonks! This might just be the final push I needed... x
NARS Anita looks gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteTweezers and Tongs
I really, truly is! Such a pretty nude colour.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the Chubby Sticks.. none of the colours really appeal to me.
ReplyDeleteHell yes! I can't be bothered with high maintenance lipsticks on a day to day basis.
ReplyDeleteEveryone raves about the chubby sticks but none of the colours appealed to me - do you have a favourite?
ReplyDeleteIt really is!
ReplyDeleteYES! Always and forever <3
ReplyDeleteHmm, weird places tend to carry them like Waitrose!
ReplyDeleteAhh, thank you so much Nina! I definitely want more of the Korres lip butters.. and the NARS lipstick really is a dream.
ReplyDeleteMAC Russian Red is my absolute favourite, it's a classic red with a long wear time. It's matte so can be a little drying but it looks great.
ReplyDeleteI use makeupalley.com for reading reviews because it's a great overview of whether a product is good or not.
I love this lipstick SO MUCH, it's a permanent repurchase of mine.
ReplyDeleteI like the consistency.. I don't like the pots. I might try the stick versions instead. Lip Glow is definitely way more my thing.
ReplyDeleteIt's super lovely, I can't recommend it enough.
ReplyDeleteHomeoplasmine is the best lip salve I have ever tried, I can't think of a better balm.
ReplyDeleteIt's so good, right?
ReplyDeleteI like the Korres lip butters, it's just a shame about the pots.. it makes application fiddly/messy.
ReplyDeleteLip Glow is amazing, I rave about it all the time but it really is worth every penny.
ReplyDeleteSo easy to use and produce such great colours.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried those but they look pretty awesome (I think I saw them on one of your videos once, there's an orange-y shade that looks super pretty). I've heard of the lip liner trick before but never used it.. I should definitely try it out sometime.
ReplyDeleteI definitely need moisturising and easy to wear products for day to day, I can't be bothered with the hassle of high maintenance lip products.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely ADORE it, I can't recommend it enough!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
ReplyDeleteThis is why I don't wear lipsticks that often!!! I have the Dior Lip Glow and this is the one I choose for an effortless look! :)

The only one I use is "mega melon" but lately "watermelon" caught my eye as well :) But I suppose it always depends on the complexion. I suggest staying away from "hazelnut" though, regretted buying that one.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds more like a grocery shopping list than lipstick recommendations...
Dior Lip Glow basically lives in my purse :)
ReplyDeleteKris | www.love-lift-life.com
the korres lip butters also come in stick form

Inspirations Have I None
Haha, thanks for your recommendations!
ReplyDeleteOh here's NARS Anita again, this must be fate! ;)
ReplyDeleteThe pot packaging of the Korres Lip Butters is the only thing that puts me off them. I have one and it stays at home as I find it to be too much of a faff to take out and about with me.
Amy x
That Nars lipstick looks truely yummy - want!
