A Review Of The Green People Coconut Charcoal Purifying Face Mask [AD]

Sustainably-made, vegan-friendly, and fairy-traded beauty products are a must for me. Even better if they come packaged in reusable and recyclable packaging. I like to keep my skincare routine simple and streamlined but occasionally I'll need to add in a few extra products to keep my complexion looking its best.

Green People's new Coconut Charcoal Purifying Face Mask recently joined my skincare routine. Green People use organic, natural ingredients to make vegan-friendly beauty products that are also ethically, sustainably, and fairly traded for. Their new mask is also low waste too, having been created from coconut shells, a by-product of other coconut-based products that would otherwise be thrown away.

The formula contains activated charcoal to help cleanse and purify, bentonite clay to draw out dirt and toxins, and alpine willow a natural antioxidant and rich anti-inflammatory. Together they create a mask to help absorb toxins, bacteria, oil, and dirt; fight environmental pollutants, balance sebum productive, and refine the texture of the skin.

I generally have pretty 'normal' skin with few complaints, however, in the transitional period between seasons, I've noticed my complexion can struggle with the change in weather. I use masks as a skin treatment to maintain my complexion and keep it looking fresh by fighting environmental pollutants and general skin issues. So I've been using the Green People Coconut Charcoal Purifying Face Mask a couple of times a month, sometimes every week, to help protect against the tumultuous time between winter and spring.

A little of this mask goes a long, long way. It has a creamy yet firm formula making it easy and not at all messy to apply. I smooth it over my troubled areas, which tend to be my nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead. I've found a 50p sized amount is more than enough for one treatment. On the skin, the mask has a cooling effect. It starts to work immediately, tightening as it dries to matte grey over 15-20 minutes leaving obvious signs your pores have been cleaned. Removal is easy with a damp reusable cotton round with very little mess, and the black mask washes out of cotton with a little soap leaving no stains.

The Green People Coconut Charcoal Purifying Face Mask is designed for congested skin, working at unclogging pores, drawing out impurities, controlling oil, and reducing the appearance of pores. My skin can be sensitive to skin care treatments and masks often leave it a little sore or red after use but the Green People Charcoal Mask treated my skin so gently. After use, my complexion feels smooth and looks clearer, brighter, and fresher.

It's a mask I'm certain I'll be returning to again and again. The Green People Coconut Charcoal Purifying Face Mask is an effective treatment suitable for most skin types (only those with rosacea or sensitivity to essential oils need to avoid) and ideal for regular use. Since a little goes such a long way, the price (£21) is fair for a mask that's not only kind to your skin but the planet too.
